While the location of next year’s Primal Quest Expedition Adventure Race is still a secret, we are happy to announce the 2008 race dates.
Between June 21 and July 2, 2008* seventy-five co-ed teams of racers will take part in the World’s Most Challenging Human Endurance Competition.
Primal Quest is an environmentally friendly, ecologically aware wilderness Expedition Adventure Race®. Teams of experienced back country adventure athletes journey across expansive terrain using only a map, a compass and combined skills. Successfully finishing requires much more than stamina and mental fortitude. It requires selfless teamwork, spirit and absolute determination.
Only co-ed teams of four are permitted to race. Team members are required to travel together at all times and must finish together in order to be officially ranked. Over $100,000 in Cash and Prizes will be awarded to the top finishing teams.

June 30, is Quarter End for most business professionals. If we are employeed in Sales, Accounting or Operations it is VERY difficult to take a week off at the end of a quarter. Especially if we work for a publicly traded company. This may negatively effect registration. Any chance of moving the race to early or mid June? Or any time in May or July?

So many factors go into choosing a race date, but a driving force (and one largely out of our control) is permitting.
Short answer to your question is that the dates announced today are pretty firm.

Ha! Good point! According to the US Navy the summer solstice occurs June 20, 2008 at 23:59, so technically speaking PQ08 will begin on the first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

No worries. I know you have a lot on your plate to bring an event of this magnitude together.
