Darin and Kristin Fredricks (photo courtesy Billings Gazette)The Billings Gazette published a really nice article today about Team Big Sky/Flathead Beacon which has three members who call Montana home. Husband and wife team Darin and Kristin Fredericks will join forces with ultrarunner Andrew Matulionis, and Thomas Etter of Missouri, to compete in Primal Quest. The team is hoping that having a strong core from Montana will serve them well when the race gets underway on the June 23rd.

An excerpt from the article follows…

Kristen and Darin Fredericks have a racy relationship.

The couple met as teammates during a 1995 endurance race. They got along so well that they teamed up for life by getting married and raising three children. Each runs a business in the Bigfork area.

Somehow in their busy schedules, they’ve still found time to train for the upcoming

500-mile Primal Quest Montana 2008 race, billed as “the world’s most challenging human endurance competition.” The race starts at Big Sky Resort on June 23. The course route is kept secret until the day before the race, when maps are handed out.
