Team Notes – Day 1

The teams competing in Primal Quest are made up of amazing individuals and throughout the race we hope to highlight as many of them as we possibly can, and tell their stories. To that end, here are some Team Notes for Day 1 of the race.

- Avril Copeland of Team Hunky Dorys was interviewed on the Mooney Goes Wild  radio show on RTE, the national radio station in Ireland. You can listen to the entire show, including Avril’s interview by clicking here.

- Team GORGRP is racing for a cause. Team member Clark Kent is employed in the Law Enforcement field, and he and his team have made C.O.P.S., Concerns of Police Survivors, a focus for their efforts. C.O.P.S. is an organization whose focus is to help the family and friends of police officers who are killed in the line of duty. To donate to this very worthy cause click here

- Team number 54 Werewolves/MPGear.com are blogging the team’s progress throughout the race at their official site. They’ve been doing a great job of conveying the PQ experience for friends and family back home with regular updates, including a post on the Werewolves making their way through TA1. Go Werewolves!

- As if battling through miles of backcountry non-stop, 24 hours a day, for ten days isn’t challenging enough, racers in this year’s Primal Quest have to contend with the Montana wildlife. Yesterday while on a training ride, Team MAAR encountered a bear. No word on whether or not it was a Black Bear or a Griz, but he apparently didn’t find adventure racers very appetizing, as the team was able to continue their ride without any issues.
