Primal Quest is proud to launch, in conjunction with SPOT and MyTopo, a state of the art tracking system for this years race. Each team is carrying a SPOT Messenger which uses GPS positioning and updates the SPOT tracking server every 10 minutes to give an accurate representation of where teams are on the course at any given time. 

Additionally, the tracking service uses maps from MyTopo to give the most accurate representation of an adventure racing course ever put online. In fact, the maps you see when tracking your favorite teams are the exact same map that the teams are carrying on the course. 

The leaderboard for the event is updated automatically to reflect the most current standings out in the field, and fans following from home are able to select specific teams that they want to follow by simply checking or unchecking the box next to the team names. Clicking on the box with the team name in it will highlight their position on the course and realtime updating will show their progress as the race progresses.

The Primal Quest Management Team would like to thank SPOT and MyTopo for their outstanding efforts for this year’s race. Together they have crafted a new way for fans of PQ and adventure racing to follow the sport that will no doubt have an impact on future races as well.
