Last week we mentioned that Team Tecnu Extreme/Staphaseptic navigator Mark Richardson had made the new in his hometown newspaper, and now the Modesto Bee has followed up with a completely different story.
The 45-year old firefighter describes his daily commute to and from work by bike, which he uses as a training tool. He also trains regularly in his rope and river skills, and takes any opportunities he can to work in a little preparation for Primal Quest Badlands presented by SPOT.
The story also serves as an introduction to PQ, discussing some of the logistics of the race, the importance of good navigation, and the challenges that teams will face when they set out on Friday to tackle the 600-miles of remote backcountry.
