Two teams have been forced to continue the race unranked following the loss of teammates. Both Team Spanos and Team Kickapoo Scouts will press on without their respective comrads thanks to medical issues that will keep either of the two athletes from continuing further.

In the case of Team Spanos, they are now down to just two active team members, and race rules generally dictate that a team can’t continue, even unranked, with just two team members. In this, case though, Spanos has joined forces with Team Big City Mountaineers, and have been allowed to continue.

Meanwhile, a number of teams failed to make the time cut-offs for the day, and have now been moved into the short course category, which allows them to continue racing on an abbreviated route that will still give them the opportunity to finish Primal Quest Badlands before the race ends next Sunday.
