River Director
 (The Athlete Known As ~Ice~)

Josh Galt is the founder of Face Level Industries LLC and FaceLevel.com, the world’s leading entity for “face level sports”, including the company’s core sport of extreme whitewater Riverboarding.

Josh has been riverboarding now for 14 years, and has an impressive resume of accomplishments in the industry, from consultant and movie roles to international leadership recognition, to credit for a wide array of gear introductions and innovations, all of which have helped the sport of Riverboarding to evolve.

He continues to be very active in the whitewater community as a whole, helping to put on events such as the Gorge Games and working with the US National Whitewater Center to expand their riverboarding program. He has also been an outspoken supporter of American Whitewater because of their dedication to environmental and river stewardship.

Josh spent his early years in Montana and then upper British Columbia, where his parents had a school for Native Americans. It was during those years that he began to develop a love for outdoor sports, especially those involving water or snow.

In part because of his upbringing, he still has a deep respect and appreciation for native cultures, and recently helped set up the first Native American riverboarding guide service in Warm Springs, Oregon.

He is currently based in Portland but still travels to Montana regularly, as he spent his college years at the University of Montana and still considers the area his second home. Getting involved with PQ this year on a deeper level is something he has been looking forward to.

“I’m a huge fan of Primal Quest® and am excited to help make this race challenging and unforgettable! It’s just a great honor for me to be able to go back to my roots and help create not only an epic Riverboarding section, but to be involved with the river aspect of the course as a whole. It’s definitely going to be a course that racers who finish will be proud to have completed.”

Josh has riverboarded all over the USA, as well as in New Zealand, Central America, mainland Europe, and Scandinavia. He was a volunteer on the water safety team for Primal Quest® 2006.
