Two more web episodes went online at Adventure World Magazine this week, allowing fans of Primal Quest Badlands presented by SPOT to get more insights on the race and what teams were dealing with in South Dakota this past August.

Episode 3 has us catching up with teams as they get on their mountain bikes for the first time and ride through Butcher Gulch, and though they’re through the cave section, clearly it was still on their minds.

The fourth episode gives a glimpse at the amazing ropes course that the athletes had to deal with while in the Black Hills. Many of the teams said it was the best climbing section they had ever done, and it’s easy to see why.

The video is narrated by team captain Wayne Oxenham, who breaks down the strengths of his team, and gives some great insights into their race and the strategies that went into their successful finish.

The video is quite lengthy, and covers Orion Health through all aspects of the race, starting with mandatory gear check and running all the way through the finish of the race and beyond. It is a great synopsis of the events that went down in South Dakota, and includes some great shots of the beautiful scenery of the Black Hills and Badlands.

The first video was taken at the start of the race, which got underway with a bang, and continues with shots of teams moving through the first transition area, conveniently located back at Big Sky. The video closes with shots of the now infamous “House Rock” bathed in whitewater.

The second video catches a number of teams 540+ miles later as they triumphantly cross the finish line, perhaps a little tired, but happy to see Big Sky one final time.

To access the videos, click here and then click on the “Events” tab to view both Primal Quest videos.
