Volunteer
Greetings Potential PQ09 Volunteers!
My name is Beth Roseman and I am the Volunteer Director for Primal Quest and the Primal Quest Sprint Series. I am thrilled to expand my role in the adventure racing community as a part of the PQ-09 team. My introduction to AR came many years ago, watching Primal Quest on TV. I have many years experience in volunteer coordination for non-profits and charities, and acted as Co-Volunteer Director for Primal Quest Montana 2008. I’ll act as a point of contact for each of you and assist in coordinating our PQ-09 volunteer family over the coming months and out on the course itself. Feel free to contact me anytime via volunteer@ecoprimalquest.com
I’m putting the call out now to all past volunteers and to those who have never volunteered before, but want to be part of our wonderful adventure! Please go to the Primal Quest Volunteer section and complete the application.
I’m guessing most of you have heard by now…but just in case… we are headed to the South Dakota Badlands! (see press release)
What do we know now that we didn’t know last week?
- The city to fly into is Rapid City, South Dakota.
- The dates of the race are August 15 thru August 24, 2009.
- Volunteers will be expected to arrive by August 11th, but no earlier than August 10th. Volunteers will go thru Check-In on August 12th and then assist with race set-up and racer check-in on August 13th and 14th.
- That you should bring a bicycle with you, if at all possible.
- That Volunteer HQ will be located at a beautiful campground in Rapid City.
What Do I Do Now?
- Please complete the online volunteer registration form.
- Sign up for the Primal Quest Forum. There is a section there for volunteers and that is where you can ask questions, share your knowledge, tell stories, and get to know each other before PQ09.
- Think about what department you would like to work in. While we can’t accommodate everyone’s first pick, we will try! (Please give us your primary and secondary choices.) The options are: CP/TA, Medical, Logistics, Transportation, Media, Photography, Water, and Ropes.
We ask that all volunteers plan on staying the full 12 days.
All my best,
- Beth
